i-am-a-modern-dancer asked: I read that you played Galinda in Wicked at your school on another tumblr page. I'm just wondering...How did they make Elphaba fly in Defying Gravity?
What we did was actually really cool considering our school has about a $0 budget for drama.
We blacked her out while I sang or whatever, and then a single dim spot light was put on her and we put a YouTube video behind her of stars “flying”, as if she was actually flying through the galaxy. Make sense? It was really cool, cuz we played with it a lot. If you ran towards it, it felt like omg…It was awesome. It was a cool effect, in my opinion. But I know it’s nothing compared to other schools…
But yeah, I would get on my Galinda suit case on my stomach and they would push me towards the stars, it was the best feeling ever. I loved it :) It was such a cool idea… ^_^
I'm a huge thespian and this is my blog for anything and everything theatre related. I'm a Freshman and I might as well be Galinda Upland (from the Upper Uplands). I'm currently in the pre-production process of a play I wrote. This blog is mostly for the fellow thespian to relate to and I'll probably be asking for a lot of advice!
