• Help with auditions?

I’m sending in a video audition for a tv show that’s going be like The View but with teenagers.

    This is the audition info:

Are you between the age of 11-17 with a BIG personality and strong opinions about the environment, politics, sports, music, and lifestyle? If so, we want to meet YOU.

Please send us a 5 minute or less video clip showing your commentary of one of the above subjects, or you can create your own subject that you are passionate about. Topics should showcase current issues and should be structured like this:

    Introduction: Name, age and city
Identify the topic/issue with the facts
Identify both sides of the issue
Give your personal opinion on the issue
    Finally, is there a solution?

So basically, I need help with choosing a subject? I don’t want to go mainstream and I want something that shows my personality (quirky and outgoing, but thoughtful).

    So yanno. Help?

  • I’m thinking about giving up the performing, Broadway dream

I think my potential to be a performer on Broadway is about 0%. Sure I can act but I know that I just can’t sing. It bugs me no one’s really told me this and I kept convincing myself I can. A few years down the road, I realize it’s not worth it.

But I’m not completely unhappy with this. Granted, I out of my mind love performing. The rush and the thrill. I can’t imagine living without it…but what if I did something else that would make me almost just as happy?

What if I became a director? Or a playwright? Something else I love about theatre is the backstage work. The nitty gritty work, getting into everything, creating an experience versus a show. For both the team and the audience. I would be apart of the casting, making others’ dreams come true. I would still have friends in the cast, and I would still be around those crazy theatre people I love to be around.

I just love being around my weirdos and the life they get to live if they’re lucky enough.

  • Who can blame me for hoping?

I mean honestly, who could really blame me for dreaming? That maybe one of these 3 dreams could come true? That maybe, and just maybe people here—my own FRIENDS who KNOW how much this means to me—could commit? I figured someone would see my hard work and help out a bit.

It frusterates me more than anything when my best friend dropped out. She knows how important this is to me. And she just dropped out giggling like it was no big deal. It is. This means everything to me.

Believe it or not, I’m still pushing. E&N will be on stage. Or maybe I’ll have to write another play. I don’t care. I’m not afraid of a little hard work and sweat.

I will work hard and it will pay off. Excuse me while I go live my dreams.
